The historic Macarthur Hotel and adjacent Blue Room Cafe are located in the town of Macarthur in South West Victoria. Macarthur lies almost midway between Port Fairy and Hamilton on the C184 (see maps). The C184 has features that make it ideal for a scenic drive. With a sealed road surface in exceptional condition for much of its 83kms, a diversity of scenery that achieves picturesque qualities in the dales between Broadwater and North Byaduk and no less than four unique Volcanoes Discovery Trail attractions along the route the tranquil C184 is one of the South Wests unearthed treasures. In fact, the Macarthur Hotel is centrally placed to all the major towns of South West Victoria and is only 36km South of Hamilton, 47km North of Port Fairy and 68km North West of Warrnambool. So why not indulge in a leisurely scenic drive with a lunch stop meal in the Macarthur Hotel/Blue Room Cafe or perhaps stay overnight in Macarthur across the road at the Farmers Inn Bed & Breakfast and dine out for dinner in Campbell Cameron's (with Adam Baird) Blue Room Cafe.

History

Construction of this historic hotel began in 1860. The Macarthur Hotel was originally known as the "Travellers Rest". The first owner, Siacob Silberberg, migrated from Poland and his daughter Eva laid the first stone for the "Travellers Rest".

Front Bar

The front bar is open 7 days a week. Come and have a yarn with publicans Ian and Wayne Gaut.

New for the Blueroom Cafe is Sunday Breakfast from 10am - 2pm.
